Well after a few error messages here I am starting my 1st Blog!!
As September started I was focused on making and reinforcing routines for my daughter who is starting grade 1; everyday school for the first time. Smiles and great reports from the teacher but tears and anxiety at night! Into week three and all seems to be going better; but her I am sitting here trying to figure out how to make a blog, when to fit in the readings and assignments and I realized I am trying to figure out my own routines and time management. After chuckling at the similarity of my daughter in Grade 1 and myself I am pleased that I decided to take this learning opportunity.
Time to go and watch for the bus!!! Good luck to everyone; I look forward to reading other peoples BLOGS!!
Lets see if this works??
ReplyDeleteWell I have tried this a few times this week and it never appears to published I got a quick comment to work so here I am again trying to complete assignment 2.
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked at assignment 2 I realized it was easy (other then posting again in this BLOG) I am already an active user of facebook, LinkedIn and when I started this blog last week I set up a google circle of friends.
I did take some time this week to look at some of the suggested weblinks.
Well week 2 comments done lets hope week 3 BLOG comments are easier then this week.
Week 3!! Twitter was easy to set up and even easier to locate people and groups to follow!! Will I continue to update tweets? I hope to find the time to check on the account periodically however I do not see the need or have the desire to download the Twitter app to my phone. Maybe at a later date when I have free time to sit and browse on the internet I can look into the many useful features that Twitter has to offer. RSS feeds honestly had no idea what they were until this assignment. I have signed into the SOLS & Library news feed and found the information interesting. I will have to start looking to see what other websites offer RSS feeds. Twitter and RSS feeds could be useful in a library setting as it offers a quick reference to patrons as to the upcoming events and news of the library. Easy to track and user friendly!!
ReplyDeleteWeek 4! Visiting Pinterest one of my favorite places to find craft ideas for work. It was great setting up a board to post things, I will conitiue to repin and pin things to my boards for future reference. I find with sites such as Pinterst what I see today that I like or might use I can never find again tomorrow, by repinning ideas it should solve this problem. I have thought about how pinterest could be used in the library setting and I am not confident that I have a relevent answer. Possibly used to advertise upcoming events by pinning what crafts or books will be used, or to advertise new material to the collection? I would love to hear others ideas about how it could be successfully used in the library setting.
